An American author and feminist, she is best known for titles such as Woman’s Work (1908) and The Basis of Marriage (1910). She co-wrote her 1906 work, Justinian and Theodora, with her soap salesman and philosopher husband.
She married Elbert Hubbard after giving birth to his illegitimate daughter, Miriam Elberta Hubbard. Tragically, both Hubbard and her husband died while traveling by sea to Europe to cover the events of the First World War.
