Biography - A Short Wiki

English bassist best known as an original member of the 60’s rock band The Animals. After leaving the group in 1966, he became the manager of acts like Jimi Hendrix and Slade.

He worked in the Tyneside shipyards and became a member of the Alan Price Trio, which later became The Animals, in 1962.

He financed the recording of The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s first single, ‘Hey Joe.’

Personal Life

He married Miss United Kingdom Madeleine Stringer in 1977. He had children named Steffan, Alex, Elizabeth and Katherine.

He played with guitarist Hilton Valentine in The Animals from 1962 to 1966.
