Brilliant but troubled author who is best known for Infinite Jest (1996) and other philosophically complex novels. He committed suicide at the age of forty-six.
His father was on the faculty of the University of Illinois and his mother taught English at an Illinois community college.
The writer David Foster Wallace committed suicide on September 12th of last year. His wife, Karen Green, came home to find that he had hanged himself on the patio of their house, in Claremont, California. For many months, Wallace had been in a deep depression.
