Sport climber and mountaineer who is best known for having completed a free ascent of the Compressor Route of the South American mountain Cerro Torre. In 2008, he received the gold medal at the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Cup. In 2018, he became first to climb Lunag Ri solo.

He was one of the youngest people to compete in the world cup at a mere 15 years of age.

In 2017, he ascended The Eiger’s north face.

Personal Life

His father was a mountain guide from Nepal and his mother was an Innsbruck Austria native. He tragically lost his life caught in an avalanche in the Canadian Rockies.

Both he and Tommy Caldwell were notable climbers.
