Son of a famous silent actor who starred in The Prisoner of Zenda. In 1947, he appeared in Sinbad the Sailor, and in 1981, he appeared in Ghost Story.
He married actress Joan Crawford in 1929, but their relationship ended after her affair with actor Clark Gable.
On the morning of May 7, 2000, Fairbanks died at the age of 90 of a heart attack and was interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California, in the same tomb as his father.
