Director, producer, and writer of low-budget campy films, most notably the 1950’s features Plan 9 From Outer Space, Glen or Glenda, and Bride of the Monster.

He married Norma McCarty in 1955, but the couple divorced the following year. He then married Kathleen O’Hara in 1959. He had a daughter named Kathleen Emily Wood.
