She is also known as the grandmother to actor Mel Gibson. She had two children with the American businessman John Hutton Gibson, including Hutton Gibson, Mel Gibson’s father.

The opera singer passed away on Mars 20, 1920, at 82 at the age of 44 in Chicago after slipping in the shower and injuring her neck.

She left behind her two-year-old son, Hutton, and infant daughter, Alexis, who were subsequently cared for by her husband.
