Remembered for his work on such 1970s United Kingdom children’s and comedy television programs as Today Is Saturday Watch And Smile (also known as Tiswas) and The Comedians, he also appeared on a popular BBC variety show called The Good Old Days.

He grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in a Catholic family of Italian heritage. He and his wife, Ruth, raised two sons and one daughter.
