Famous as the security guard who noticed unusual, break-in-like activity at Washington, D.C.’s Watergate office building, Wills spurred investigation into the Nixon presidency-ending event that came to be known as the Watergate Scandal.
A native of Savannah, Georgia, he grew up primarily in the care of his mother Margie. He lived his later years in poverty in North Augusta, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia, and died of brain cancer in his early fifties.
