Known by variety of nicknames, including America’s Number One Song Stylist, Laine was an American singer, songwriter, and actor whose hits included “Mule Train,” “Jezebel,” and “Rawhide.”

He married Nan Grey on June 15, 1950 and Marcia Ann Kline on July 5, 1999.

He was 93. The cause was cardiovascular disease, said A. C. Lyles, a friend and film producer. Mr. Laine died at Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he had been admitted for a hip replacement.
