TikTok Star Gabenotbabe Dies in Fiery Crash Following Police Chase

Gabriel “Gabe” Salazar, better known online as Gabenotbabe, was a popular TikTok creator celebrated for his lip-sync performances and comedic skits. His bright energy, quick edits, and relatable humor earned him a devoted following—total likes across his self-titled account surpassed 100 million, and his follower count climbed beyond 2.3 million.

Gabe grew up alongside his younger sister, Danna, and one brother.

The Fatal Police Chase

On the night of Sunday, September 26, 2021, tragedy struck when the Crystal City Police Department tried to pull over a white Chevy Camaro traveling north on US Highway 83 near FM 3292, around 1:20 a.m. According to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office statement:

“On Sunday September 26, 2021 at approximately 1:20 am ZCSO deputy overheard a Crystal City Police Department officer initiate a traffic stop on US Highway 83 at the intersection of FM3292. CCPD officer advised he was in an active pursuit with a white Chevy Camaro that was traveling north on Highway 83 towards La Pryor.”

Deputies attempted to deploy a tire-deflation device to safely end the chase, but it “was unsuccessful,” the statement noted. Moments later, the situation turned catastrophic.

Tragically, four people—including 19‑year‑old Gabriel “Gabe” Salazar—were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Gabe and three other passengers sustained fatal injuries after the vehicle struck trees, flipped multiple times, and erupted into flames.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, he lost his life following a car crash that occurred after a high-speed police chase.
