Southern gospel bass singer who performed with The Cathedrals quartet. He performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra during his career.

He grew up with three older siblings in Patterson, North Carolina; he was married to Clara Younce at the time of his death.

Death. Younce suffered from heart trouble as well as kidney failure, and was on dialysis during the last years of his life. He died April 11, 2005 at Akron City Hospital in Ohio. He and his wife, Clara, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 27.
