Screenwriter and adult film director, best known for his cult classic, Deep Throat. He also directed The Devil in Miss Jones, one of the top grossing films of 1973.

He dated the troubled star of Deep Throat, Linda Lovelace.

The cause was complications of a stroke he had last month, his son, Gerard Jr., said. Written and directed by Mr. Damiano under the name Jerry Gerard, “Deep Throat” was “pornography’s ‘Gone With the Wind’ in terms of grosses,” The New York Times wrote in 1973.
