Italian fashion designer and founder of The House of Gucci. In 2009, Businessweek rated the Gucci company one of the top 100 brands.
He had six children with his wife, Aida Cavelli, five sons, and one daughter. Four of his sons held prominent roles in the company.
Death and Legacy
After his death on 2 January 1953 in Milan, Guccio left the business to his five sons. With the change in leadership, the Gucci brand grew and opened international locations, and diversified its product lines.
