He was the oldest son of fellow television host Art Linkletter. He was married twice and had three children: Mike, Dennis, and Laura.

Jack Linkletter, who followed his father, Art Linkletter, into broadcasting, serving as the host of several television shows in the late 1950s and 1960s, died on Tuesday at his home in Cloverdale, Calif. He was 70. The cause was lymphoma, his father told The Los Angeles Times.
