Better known by his professional names of Gir and Moebius, this French cartoonist and storyboard artist created the Blueberry western-themed comic book series and the Arzach science fiction comics and contributed to such science fiction films as Tron, The Fifth Element, and Alien.
He was born near Paris, France. Following his parents’ 1941 divorce, he lived with his grandparents.
