British-American computer programmer John McAffee earned a name for himself in 1987 when writing the first commercial anti-virus software.
McAffee had accumulated a fortune of $100 million in 2007. Unfortunately, his wealth plummeted in the financial crisis of 2007–2008.
How did McAfee die?
Due to tax evasion charges, at the behest of the United States, Spanish Authorities arrested McAfee in October 2020.
On 23 June 2021, he was found dead in his prison cell near Barcelona shortly after the Spanish National Court authorized his extradition to the U.S. Apparently, McAfee committed suicide by hanging himself.
