Argentinian cellist, composer, arranger, and musical archivist who was a prominent figure in the 1950s New Tango movement. He and fellow musician Lucio Milena founded the Channel 13 Orchestra.
He emigrated from Italy to Argentina in 1927 when he was 12 years old, but was forced to move to Brazil in 1976 to escape Argentina’s military dictatorship.
He became known as an expert arranger of Paraguayan folk music, mastering guaranias and polkas.
