Geologist and cartographer who discovered the bones of the Albertosaurus dinosaur in Alberta’s Badlands in 1884 and managed the Kirkland Lake Gold mine in Ontario.
His younger brother, James Williams Tyrell, went with him to make the first European contact with the Ihalmiut, a tribe of the Inuit people.
