Hall of Fame defensive tackle who became the first-ever draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 1950. He played in every 49ers game for 14 years and was eventually selected to the NFL’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
He is survived by his daughter Lane and his son Drew.
Leo Nomellini died Oct. 17, 2000, in Stanford, Calif. He was 76. The cause was complications of a stroke, his family said.
