Actor, comedian, and TV personality who hosted the British version of the popular game show, The Price is Right, from 1984 to 1988.

He studied piano as a youth and in 1944 he won a junior scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music.

He was a presenter on The Black and White Minstrel Show and the children’s program, Crackerjack, alongside Peter Glaze.
