Remembered best for creating the technique of silhouette animation, this German director was responsible for more than forty animated films, including The Adventures of Prince Achmed and a series of BBC shorts based on Grimms’ Fairy Tales.
In 1921, she married fellow director Carl Koch, who would also become her frequent artistic collaborator.
