She was married three times: to James MacArthur, Robert Seaton, and Vern Miller. Her first husband, James MacArthur, was a series regular on Hawaii Five-O, and Patterson also appeared on the show while she was living with MacArthur in Hawaii.

Death

On August 20, 2015, at the age of 66, Melody Patterson passed away in a nursing home in Hollister, Missouri, due to multiple organ failure.

Larry Storch, her co-star from F Troop (Corporal Agarn), shared the news of her death on Facebook, expressing his sorrow: “It’s with a heavy heart that we can let you know our beloved Wrangler Jane, Melody Patterson, passed away today. Our hearts are sad today. RIP Sweet Melody. We love you.”
