Most famous for his over fifteen-year run as Roger Thorpe on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, he is also known for his performances in Broadway productions of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick, and Joseph Stein’s Fiddler on the Roof.
His marriage to fellow soap opera actor Joanne Dorian lasted from 1965 until 1972. His second marriage, to author and psychologist Susan Hufford, began in 1975 and resulted in daughters named Helena and Marika.
