Nigel Hawthorne, a versatile actor known around the world as the scheming civil servant Sir Humphrey in the British television series ”Yes, Minister,” died today at his home in Baldock, Hertfordshire, north of London. He was 72. The cause was a heart attack, said Ken McReddie, his agent.
