Australian author who wrote several popular books, including 1978’s The Anzacs, 1984’s Australian Women at War, and 1992’s Prisoners of War. The Anzacs won the 1978 Age Book of the Year Award.

During World War II, she was the first female radio officer to serve on an Australian ship.
