British actor who gained fame for his role as Professor Phillip Barbay in the 1986 film, Back to School. In 2011, he played Rev. Canon Chasuble in The Importance of Being Earnest.

He began studying acting when he was 17 years old at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.

He was nominated for a 1981 Tony Award in the Best Actor in a Musical category for his work in Camelot.

Personal Life

He married Katherine Jane Robertson in 1987 and the couple had two children together.

He co-starred with Richard Chamberlain in the Broadway production of My Fair Lady.
