Versatile performer as a composer, orchestrator, songwriter and television writer whose breakthrough came in 1964 with the Broadway musical Baker Street, working alongside lifelong songwriting partner Marian Grudeff. He was a story editor for The Love Boat from 1977 to 1980 and wrote and produced The Jacksons.
He wrote several songs with the help of his wife Cynthia Thompson.
