Actor and director who was nominated for an Emmy Award for his guest role on Malcolm in the Middle. His role in Jagged Edge earned him a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

He was previously married to Marjorie Sloan, and after their divorce, he married Audrey O’Brien. He had three children and a stepdaughter.
