Sought-after Indian actress who appeared in films such as “Arunachalam” and “Padayappa.” The government of Andhra Pradesh gave her three Nadi awards, and she also won seven Filmfare awards.

Her father was Kannada film producer and writer K. S. Satyanarayan. She died in a plane crash at the age of 31. Following her tragic death, her husband and sister established a social welfare charity in her honor.

At the peak of her career, Soundarya died in an aircraft crash near Bangalore on 17 April 2004, when she was on her way to Andhra Pradesh to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
