Former British Army officer and philanthropist who made headlines in 2020 after raising more than 32 million pounds prior to his 100th birthday. The money was raised in support of the UK’s National Health Service amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. He died on February 2nd, 2021 from complications of COVID-19.

He was married to Pamela Moore from 1968 until her death in 2006. He had two children named Lucy and Hannah.
