Leading man who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best actor for his portrayal of Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind. He gained additional acclaim for his roles in The Misfits, Mutiny on the Bounty, and Manhattan Melodrama.
His third wife was actress Carole Lombard. He was married to his sixth wife, Kay Williams, from 1955 until his death in 1960. He had two children.
