Leon Ichaso, the Cuban American writer and director behind El Super, Piñero, and Bitter Sugar, died May 20 at 74. His other notable film credits included El Cantante, the 2006 Héctor Lavoe biographical drama starring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, and the 2009 family thriller Paraiso, starring Miguel Gutierrez and Adrián Mas.
