Michael Lee’s Death – Cause and Date

Michael Lee, the highly respected drummer known for his dynamic performances with legendary rock acts, passed away on November 24, 2008, at 39.

Born Michael Gary Pearson on November 19, 1969, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Lee rose to fame in the 1990s, playing with prominent bands such as Robert Plant’s solo project, The Cult, and most notably, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s post-Led Zeppelin collaborations.

Tragic death

Tragically, Michael Lee passed away suddenly on 24 November 2008 from an epileptic seizure at his home. His untimely death left a void in the music industry, with many fellow musicians and fans mourning the loss of a gifted and influential drummer whose impact on rock music continues to be felt.

His funeral was held the following week in his hometown of Darlington and was attended by former bandmates Toby Jepson and Jimmy Page.
