Sandy West, whose ferocious drumming fueled the influential all-female 70’s rock band the Runaways, which she founded with Joan Jett, died on Saturday in San Dimas, east of Los Angeles. She was 47. The cause was lung cancer, diagnosed a year ago, her manager Mara Fox said.
