Gloria Talbott, Scream Queen of 1950s Sci-Fi, Dies at 69
Gloria Talbott, the dark-haired beauty known for her roles in 1950s B-movie horror and science fiction classics, died on September 19, 2000, at the age of 69.

Talbott rose to fame with performances in genre films such as The Daughter of Dr. Jekyll and The Cyclops (1957), earning her a reputation as a quintessential “Scream Queen” of the era. Her wide-eyed vulnerability and on-screen intensity made her a memorable presence in the world of low-budget thrillers and drive-in favorites.
Outside of her horror and sci-fi credentials, Talbott had a prolific television career, appearing in shows like Perry Mason, Bonanza, and Gunsmoke, where she often played strong-willed, complex women.
Four marriages and two children
Talbott was married four times and had two children. Her first marriage was to Gene Parrish (1948–1953), with whom she had a son, Mark Parrish. She later married Grover Sanders (1956–1965), followed by Steven Capabianco (1967–1969), with whom she had a daughter, Mea. Although Mea was born during Talbott’s third marriage, she appears to have taken the surname of Talbott’s fourth husband, Dr. Patrick Mullally, whom she married in 1970 and remained with until her death in 2000.
