Member and drug lord of the Medellin Cartel who earned nicknames such as The Black Widow and the Cocaine Godmother. She was also involved with the cocaine drug trade and underworld in Miami, Florida, in the 1970s and ’80s.
Her youngest son was named Michael Corleone Blanco after the character from The Godfather.
Death
On September 3, 2012, Blanco, accompanied by her pregnant daughter-in-law, visited the Cardiso butcher shop located on the corner of 29th Street in Medellín. Upon exiting, she was fatally shot twice by an assailant on a motorcycle, mirroring the assassination style Blanco herself had employed during the Miami Drug War.
Burial
Blanco was laid to rest in the Jardines de Montesacro cemetery, where Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar was also interred.
