Scottish-born singer and songwriter whose more than twenty United Kingdom Top 30 hits include “Cumberland Gap,” “Gamblin’ Man,” and “My Old Man’s a Dustman.” His music spanned the folk, jazz, and pop genres.
His three marriages — to Maureen Tyler, Jill Westlake, and Sharon Donegan — produced a total of three daughters and four sons.
Donegan died on 3 November 2002, aged 71, after a heart attack in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire mid-way through a UK tour, and before he was due to perform at a memorial concert for George Harrison with the Rolling Stones.
